Alaska's Fishing Areas
Welcome to our 2008 Alaska Fishing Guide!

We use the latest data from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to calculate
success rates for locations across Alaska. Our 2008 Alaska Fishing Guide uses our
personal experience in addition to recent and historic fishing reports compiled by the
Alaska Department of Fish and Game to show you the best times to fish the most
popular spots in Alaska.
For salmon, we provide location-specific timing information so you can show up
when the fish do-we will show you how to be in the right place at the right time!
Alaska is an incredibly vast place, so the Alaska Department of Fish and Game
(ADF&G) recognizes three distinct regions for the purpose of Sport Fishing. Each
region has several sub-regions; with each sub-region characterized by it's own
unique climate, geology, terrain, and fish species. On these pages we report on the
more popular or highest producing sub-regions. We also provide in-depth information
on run timing, success rates, and local techniques and gear. In other words, the
when, were, and how to have a successful fishing trip in Alaska!
